Places

Layers of place: el lugar (the place), el pueblo (village), la ciudad (city), el país (country), el continente (continent), el mundo (the world).

Countries & nationalities

Countries are capitalized; nationalities (adjectives) are not. Add -a for feminine: 'mexicano / mexicana'. Some, like 'inglés', drop the accent in the feminine form: 'inglesa'.

Like nationalities, the regional adjectives have masculine/feminine forms (norteamericano/a).
